Parents and society encouraged students to pursue higher education, believing that it would open doors to better job opportunities and higher incomes. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Education_in_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia&#8217;s Education in the United States page<\/a>, the emphasis on university education has been deeply ingrained in the educational system. People thought that the more knowledge and skills one acquired through university education, the more competitive they would be in the job market. These individuals, despite having spent years in university, find themselves in jobs that were once mainly filled by those with less education. As a result, it makes us wonder about the effectiveness of the educational investment they made. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/employment\" target=\"_blank\">Employment information on Britannica<\/a> shows that the job market has become more complex, and the connection between degrees and employment is not as straightforward as before.<\/p>\n<p>There could be several reasons for this phenomenon. Another reason is that the skills taught in universities may not always match the requirements of the job market.
